Goldilocks and the Three Bears with Printed Props

January 25, 2016      2 Comments

My kids love drama and acting stories out. I love providing them with the props they need to help them develop these skills! The greatest thing about drama is that your kids will only need some help in the beginning, but after a while they will be able to act easy stories out with no help whatsoever. The best way to learn is to be engaged…and what better way to be engaged than through acting?

This process helps them develop their social skills (negotiating the roles, cooperating), express their feelings and needs through gestures and movement, improve their gross motor skills (dancing, moving on stage), improve their fine motor skills (by using hand/finger/stick puppets), improve their vocabulary (even in a foreign language), etc.

As I’ve mentioned before, I love Goldilocks and the Three Bears and my kids do, too. Most of them know the story already (except for a few new kids), so tomorrow we can read the story again, then I will act it out using printed dolls and props. I will use play dough to get the props stand on the table. I bought this cute clip art pack from LittleRed and I am very eager to use it. We’re also going to talk about sizes by comparing the printed objects.

If you like this story as much as I do, keep an eye on the next blog posts: I’m planning to make some free printables that go with Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Update: You can download the printables here.

I'm glad to meet another English teacher. 🙂
It's good that you left a comment, because I almost forgot about posting the Goldilocks coloring pages. I'll try to add them today!
