Autumn and Halloween Activities – Five for Friday Linky Party

September 16, 2016      2 Comments

 Five for Friday is a weekly teacher linky party where bloggers post five random things about the past week. This linky party is hosted by Doodle Bugs Teaching, so if you’re curious to see lots of fun teaching ideas, hop over to this website.

This has been a great week! And tomorrow we have a board game day, so it’ll be even better!

Helsinki is the perfect place for children to learn through play: there are lots of free museums, parks, forests, farms, botanical gardens, etc. This week we took the children to the playroom at the National Museum to teach them about jobs and careers. There’s a huge room with a throne, puzzles of former presidents, a shop, a factory (with toys and a conveyor belt), a bakery, even a place where children can build a house using fake bricks. It was crazy fun!

Friday we made a fresh batch of playdough. For some of the children, it was the first time and they really enjoyed kneading it.

The teachers decorated their windows for autumn and I took a couple of pictures.

We have started planning the Halloween party activities, and so far we agreed on having a different theme for each room. Because I’m from Transylvania, we’ll have a Dracula theme, another group will have a Pumpkin theme, and the oldest kids will decorate their room for Dia de los Muertos. I’m very excited!

I’ve been working on some new Halloween flashcards and mazes, which will be 50% off in my TpT store. But until then, you can enjoy some of my Halloween resources from last year.

  • Free 2 Piece Puzzles With Pumpkins {Color and Shape Recognition}
  • Exploring Pumpkins: Coloring Pages and Task Cards {Pre-K, K, 1st}
  • Halloween Mazes, Tangles, and Paths {Different Difficulty Levels}
  • Halloween Monster Number Posters {1-10}
  • Halloween Memory Game {With and Without Text}

I’d love to hear your favorite activities for Halloween parties! I will send one of the resources above to all those who leave a comment. 🙂

    Uuu…that sounds cool! Are they easier to use than paint?
